>>1777446I'd say a 10-12 foot aluminum V would be ideal. They'll launch from beaches, weigh less than a real fiberglass boat, and handle waves better than a flatbottom. That said, they'll still get thrown around by wind, but at least they're stable with boat wake and have more freeboard to work with against weather and other boats.
They're the last stop on cheap garbage boats that need zero maintenance (for welded hulls) other than the hand operated outboard before getting into trackers and bass boats that cost 4x as much starting.
