Catching Corbina is almost an artform. You got to have the right rig, sand crabs, be able to see where a school of the fish might be.
Also, don't be scared to get wet, whenever I go to the beach, I never fish from anything shallower than 1/4 leg high water. Don't go all the way to where the water is in your waist, you want to be where the waves will at most hit your crotch. This is assuming the beach is flat though, if the water goes deep right away, then stay in ankle to calf high water.
And don't be a pussy and buy some wadders, fish with boardshorts, you'll be more mobile, doesn't matter if its the middle of winter. I had days where I go out and the wet sand feels like ice, but I tought it out, do wear nice warm clothing from the waist up though.
