If you're worried about the OD milsurp aesthetic (which would be borderline retarded since BSA trousers and equipment are OD and milsurp is [was?] in common use), get something modern in khaki/tan and incorporate leather and waxed canvas pouches to make it look more natural and woodsy. Modern setups with padded belts tend to be more comfortable than ALICE gear with uncovered metal adjustments, anyway.
