No. It mainly depends on you, your life, your aims and etc. If you are really into science and you have good opportunities ahead, like universities, directors of studies and topic - go for it.
The best advice I can give you is to work hard on your connections. Prove yourself to other scientists and experts. Participate in various projects. Don't drown yourself in academics.
