It is another short loop, tiny bit harder than the overlook at the summit, but still pretty reasonable. It also connects to the southbound allegheny trail if you want a longer hike.
Make sure to park in the FIRST parking lot as you come down from the summit. The second lot is not the old growth loop, it is johns camp run trail I think, a connector trail to the long distance allegheny trail. I mean, fun and beautiful in its own right if you have the time maybe!
Anyways, at the old growth loop, I found the biggest trees were if you made a right at the loop divide and walked a bit. Sort of mostly clustered together. Definitely worth it.
Now been to Hearts Content (PA), Cathedral State Park (WV), Lillie Cornett Woods (KY), and Gaudineer (WV) for old growth appreciation!
