>>1623851super late but to answer youre question I do it for fun as well but I always feel proud of myself after having caved. I mean youre right that gear always works and you are generally going to be totally fine but sometimes I dont think rationally in caves and overcoming that is something that i'm proud I can do. In other words I dont cave to build confidence its just a fortunate byproduct. The spiritual part, for me at least, is I like focusing on a task and achieving it. It feels magical to me.
