>>1553461The best way to get fit for a 3mile hike is to do 3 mile hikes. If you really dedicate yourself to it, you will be able to do it no problem. You won't necessarily have time to stop being fat, but your stamina and lung capacity will increase dramatically despite having blubber. You you can be the fat guy that ends up smoking half the people on the trail. I've seen it done. You just have to dedicate you self to it by simulating it beforehand. You will also learn if your shoes suck or not.
