I caught a big one eyed channel catfish out of small creek today on the smallest hook I own and a tiny ball of bread. He was so fat I couldn't even get my hand around his belly so I had to lip him. That would be my fatal undoing. I walked him over to my tacklebox, got some pliers, and got him off. Just when I lifted him up to get a good look at him before I got the camera, he bit me, whipped his tail, and flew right back in the creek. I jumped halfway in after him, I had my hands slipping on his tail as he swam away. Man I was cursing and jumping up and down and shaking my net. But after a minute I sat down and was so happy I caught him, he was a nice fish and fought hard for a minute. I though he was a carp how hard he was fighting before I got him to surface. I catch and release, I don't harvest any fish I catch, I just wish I wouldve gotten a picture of him. I still got cuts on both sides of my thumb where he got me and broke free. Damn cat
