blow up mats always develop a slow leak, making them fairly useless on the cold ground, foam is less optimal vs a good working blow up mat as it compresses, but it's 100% reliable. All 2 of the blow up UL pads i have developed a slow leak. i have a foam egghell mat that is marked 1992 on it that i am using as a backrest right now its still very functional, maybe not like new but still 100 usable and durable. I bought a new pad though but this is good as a double in the winter. with blow up mats once you get the slow leak after about two weeks of every day use, cancel your plans because you will be freezing your ass off.
