>>2088504There is some land nearby me that is balloted out to hunters, and the deer are hunted damn near every day so they are very easily spooked. Feral goats are far easier than the deer and pigs.
I do find deer sign, like big wallows and scrapings, but maybe the deer smell me from miles away and scatter before I see any. It is very frustrating stalking for 10 hours and seeing absolutely nothing. Maybe sitting and waiting is better, since any movement here produces tons of sound. Pic related is the god forsaken terrain I have to deal with.
I did successfully get a deer last month about 40m away. Got lucky with the wind and the deer appearing perfect broadside between the trees. Got venison for a couple of months now, feels good.
