- have an insane carrying capacity.. I aim for 14L possible to carry (10L dromedary bag and 4 smart waters)
- never hike more than half way out of water..
That is to say, assume its hot AF and burning through 1L/hour at a 5km/h pace. You know from your well researched map sources that there's supposed to be a cattle feed/well 25km from your (current) water source..
That means you *should* pack out a minimum of 10L.. Of which hopefully you'll only need 5L.. If you get there and its dry, you can turn around.. The real big brain move is to aim for the SECOND water source, so you can push through if you're feeling lucky..
Regardless the desert is where it pays to be UL.. Larpers get food/water airdropped in presumably.
