Does anyone else prefer sharpening rods over the equivalent grit whet stone, especially for curved and recurves edges? I have been nursing this broken chunk of ceramic rod for years now, it’s only a few inches long, but is perfect for small folders and even my BHK frontier.
Now the catch is, I just commissioned a custom fixed blade that is 7.5” of cutting edge and the rear half is slightly recurves. I can’t see why I would get somethibf like the fallkniven cc4 when I couldn’t even care for that section of the blade properly with it and a rod would be perfect for working that curve.
