If your truck's like mine, it's barely getting up to temp by the time i'm pulling into the office. Might run errands on my way home, but it's generally short-tripped. Trans usually isn't even up to temp by the time i'm parking it again. Doing that I get about 9mpg.
Moto's warmed up by the time i'm out of the neighborhood. Plenty fast around town. Most days I don't need any more than what fits in my backpack, so commuting's fast/cheap/easy. And it gets about 50mpg.
Weekends when I want to go play, throw on some more gear, load my moto pack for a day's ride, and go anywhere I want.
Heading further out, sure, I can still load the moto in the pickup... but I've still got the option to hit highways into town for food/fuel/drinks/supplies/etc.
