seeing as there are some expert bowyers here
i was wondering if you could offer me a piece of advice
I want to get into bowmaking and to start off easy I decided I´d make my first project this
I have this old piece laying around (pic related) from a school bowmaking project which I never finished
it´s laminated out of 3 planks, it´s about 1.5 meters long, 2.5 centimeters broad and about 1.2 centimeters deep
the wood is grown into the right direction
unfortunately I do not know what wood was used for this (but I have the growing suspicion it might be spruce)
now this is just for a first start to get a graps on things, do you think I can make a working bow out of this, something I can use for experience for my future bows, or should I not bother at all and go out there and fell a walnut ?
(if it turns out to just be a kid´s bow I can still give it to my nephew)
anyways, the staff in question is in the picture, photographed so you can see the laminate
the whole thing is like 6 years old so i´s about as dry as can be
