I don't understand much about dogs so I might as well get an idea from /out/ too.
I want a dog that can accompany me on my one-day hikes and can at least stay with me when some wolf or wild pig appears, and one that won't cause too much problem to me when indoors.
My first choice is pic related, an Akbaş:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kangal_dogWhich one do you think would suit me more? Kangal dogs would be better for protection but I am not sure if they would make good followers all around. The Akbaş is more clever but its intelligence is rather an initiative one, it doesn't like too much orders.
