I did a hiking trip to the US (from Belgium) last April and vastness of the wilderness is something you just don't get in the EU. Everything is way bigger than you imagine. The Grand Canyon for example was much more impressive than I expected.
Sure, the more touristy trails, even though they are also incredible, are pretty much on par with stuff here in the EU but there's just so much more to explore.
