replacing stock hooks with a shorter shank treble hook that has a more refined bend costs a little bit but its worthwhile because the stock hook fouls up on the bill about 25% of casts for me.
So it's basically a component that shouldn't even be sold on the product they should just sell it without components.
I have a similar complaint for Rapala BX Swimmer - the split rings are garbage, the product you buy must be changed. The only situation I can imagine fishing the product as sold is where the are walleye with no large pike around which is a waterway that I don't even know if it exists.
Strike King stuff is decent out of the package but can be optimized for better fishing results... but the price point is more reasonable than rapala products that still come with inferior components or other higher end japanese domestic/international market products that come with good components in stock configuration... but if I could find strike king lure bodies I would buy, I've even tried my hand at repainting some bodies to varying degrees of success.
