>>1333841I started my third try of carrots this year about 2 weeks ago, and I'm at 50°N, so the sun intensity will diminish quickly from now on
First try (sown in February) didn't sprout at all, I blame the unusual severe cold wave (night time lows down to -10°C) at the end of that month for that.
Second try (May) sprouted, but got eaten up completely by idunnowhat 2-3 days later
So now I started them on my freshly built raised bed. Thanks to the high temperatures (up to ~38°C) they had sprouted within 2 days (never saw something that quick before), and I finally thinned them today. Hopefully they either will be ready to pick by November, or make it over our 8a winter to be picked next March/April.
On the left there's replanted strawberry runners which all have taken root well so far, some even have flowered again at this unusual time.
On the right I guess I'll sow some Feldsalat for winter harvest soon, will wait for it though until we get our cooldown next week, when highs are supposed to return to a normal 25-28°C
