No evaporation of fuel, no water inside the lighter even if submerged in water.
However, while they're great backup lighters, I'd take something more durable/large as a main lighter instead.
Also, what you can learn from BIC users (no matter what lighter model you are using) is that having several lighters is a good thing in case something breaks.
