I'm in the market for a new pair of boots for general hiking purposes in mostly central german uplands (or whatever you call that area in english) but also maybe some more mountain/alpine-y hiking in the future.
I've already got a pair of (fairly high) GoreTex boots (Lowa Combat GTX) that I'll probably continue using in winters with lots of snow, so going without membrane is in consideration (how waterproof are properly treated all leather boots like
>>379696 though? I know with some spray-on DWR they are obviously on the same level as membrane ones, but what if that wears off?).
I'm currently looking at the Lowa Tibet LL (pic related), with runner-ups being the HanWag Yukon and the Meindl Engadin. Mainly favoring the Lowas because I like the fit of the the pair I already have (I've read that Meindl fits better on broader feet for example). I guess quality-wise they won't be much different. Same goes for the price.
So what's /out/s opionion? Anyone have experience with either models who wants to share an opinion?
