>>2150042Thanks! After some research it seems that even though I can't find it, the damage is most likely that of a caterpillar of a zebra swallowtail. A butterfly I've only seen a few times and am in the very northernmost range of it's habitat. So I'm going to let it do it's thing because there are almost no other pawpaws in this area.
Anyways it's been a while since I was here or posted so here are a few pics of my little slice of heaven coming along. This is my back raised bed / hugelkultur mound in it's 4th year now and rocking like crazy. Fig tree was only transplanted this spring but is thriving and has a fig the size of a billiard bal now. Patty pans are enormous, especially the ones we've had under row cover. Then it's mostly chard up front, a couple tomatoes and beans are starting to climb.
