Since I am one of the more long time gardeners/farmers in the area with the largest garden that is the furthest along, people want to learn how. Thus, it is fairly easy to setup such events with friends. Though, we do go from garden to garden and do stuff to help each other out anyway. We trade crops for stuff each other doesn't grow and for services rendered ("Here Sally take this bag of squash for helping") It is pretty rewarding to see a friend starting to use polytunnels in March instead of waiting until after May Day to plant outside like everyone else around here does.
