This is it, /out/. In a few short years, I'll have enough money to purchase a fairly large tract of land in northern Maine. I'm going to start my own homestead, and I'm planning on building it into a nice traditionalist town over the years. No electricity, no plastic, no asphalt, and no aluminum. I've been doing research into means of doing things like indoor plumbing (ram pumps fed to water towers, cisterns in the houses, etc.) heating (mostly wood stoves, if I had to guess), and the kind of architecture and building materials that I'll have to use. How do I reach out get others interested in joining me? And is there anything of importance that I'll need to know beforehand?
