The surplus cots are sturdy as hell, they won't break. However they are very stiff and you'll want a foam pad between you and the cot. I've used this one for a year now.
For setup, if it's like mine, the material will be tight enough that to get the peg in the hole you will want to stand up the cot vertically and stand on the end while you lift the side bar up and into the hole.
The one in your pic looks like a slightly different design where everything stays together when it's folded.
