Easeir than unpacking and repacking a kayak and trying to carry it with multiple bags, as well as the boat itself being easier to portage for the same weight. I've done it both ways, and would definitely pick a canoe for any camping trip with significant portages, even though I only own kayaks because I live beside Lake Ontario.
