You won't really escape winter anywhere in the mountain west unless you're in a city below 2,500ft ASL though. ABQ, Sante Fe, Prescott, and Payson still average over 100 freezing nights a year and a few big snowstorms a year but there is usually excellent flying weather most of the year regardless.
