Any suggestions on the best /out/ oriented locations in the US to achieve this with a modest budget? Buying is the long term goal but not feasible with these fucked markets so stuck with rental as the only current option. I know remote, rental, internet, and cheap is a tall order but maybe just any suggestions on smaller towns as a stepping stone. Currently in the only shit part of TN and eyeballing AR or the good parts of TN.
North Dakota, Wyoming, Maine, and New Mexico stand out as the most appealing in that order but pain in the ass to move far even though I barely own anything.
