Have been trying to catch a decent (at least 12in) largemouth bass all summer.
Went to a small lake with my buddy last night, got a hug hit on my second cast. Great fight, managed to get him to the shore. Channel cat ~20in long. The hook must've torn through his jaw as I hoisted him out, he got away.
One of my goals for the year is to eat something that I've grown/foraged, eat a fish I've caught, and eat an animal I've shot. That cat looked delicious.
