Lumens/price ratio should be the last of your concerns. There are more important things to look at, eg reliability/price ratio, modes that are actually usable and most importantly the shape of the beam. And don't forget the mode memory, it's very important too, if you want it.
IMO the only weakness of HL50 is it's power button that can be accidentally pushed on in a backpack. It's not a big deal though, I can store the battery outside or simply have spare ones if this unlikely event ever occurs. Being easy to push, makes the power/mode button easy to use, I like that.
