Abu and Shimano and the other good companies seem to stick with the proven designs and just update small things every couple years to keep them competitive. Okuma and Quantum like to start with a blank slate every 5 years and it can be hit or miss. Some of the shit is really nice while others are flops. They need to build off the proven ones. The Quantum Smoke reels are still supposed to be really nice tho.
And I find it funny how you throw in "13 Fishing" with the Shimano, Abu, and Daiwa. They make some nice looking shit but need more time on the market.
