>>277988>Strange how a 50p lighter that lasts at least a yearOh?
>>277498>4 monthsSo what, next post it's going to be 10 years?
3 years of Zippo fuel cost $2. May be less depending on fuel consumption, but we're talking mere dollars here: price isn't an argument, both are cheap.
>Bics can't light in the damp, so don't get them damp. Why are excuses valid for Bics but not Zippos? Zippos have a lid and dampness isn't a problem.
>You just put your hand in the way or face down-wind as you light something.Another excuse. Zippos don't need that, and then, have you ever really used a Bic in the wind? And don't even get me started on the fact that you need your two hands to light it.
>It's not exactly easy to accidentally press that buttonIt happens to plenty people.
Zippos have a spring to keep them fully closed, and leaking is hardly a problem.
>you should need about the same amount of gas as you would light a cigarette withI light my cigarettes in a 1/3 of a second. With a Bic. You don't light a campfire in even a second.
>I just wanted to point out how fucking retarded this thread was...Indeed it is, most people here apparently don't know much about Zippos nor how to use them. They desperately try to justify their use by resorting to any possible argument when they're all invalid aside from fuel retention, and they barely mention the best reason: it's convenient. Need a Bic? Grab one!
And that is something I can agree on. I'd love to just take my Zippo without worrying about the flint, gas and wick placement, but hey, it needs a 3 second check, and eventually a one minute maintenance, and that's what putting people off. Some want ease of use, some want reliability. No need to bullshit anyone to justify yourself, convenience is enough.
But you won't have anyone believe a Bic is more reliable than a Zippo. And then, no one here even talks about pic related. That's what I use when I use a Bic.
