>>825473yeah, San Diego is home to some of the best lakes for Trophy Bass fishing, a world record bass was caught in one of the many lakes but it was foul hooked so it didn't count.
Unfortunately, these lakes get a lot of pressure, plus you need a $3-10 permit I think on top of a $50 buck price for a year long state fishing license.
So Saltwater is the year long lincense only. Gives you a chances at way bigger fish, and for $145 I can go down to the islands and catch 100lbs+ worth of yellowtail that fight better and harder than equal sized Tuna.
Also tastier in my opinion.
for $45 I can hop on a half day boat and catch calicos, halibut, bonito, white Sea Bass and a chance at yellowtail on the summer months, and tasty rockfish in the winter.
If I want to do catch a release the beach is king and theres nothing quite like fighting a nice Corbina or Spotfin Croaker. Easier on the wallet too.
