Got the shape roughly hacksawed out and now I need to grind it smooth. However, I just learned that the steel I'm using is probably case hardened and not great for knife making.
Will this thing explode when I start heating it up to harden/temper it? Someone told me it won't hold an edge for super long and will need regular sharpening to use effectively but other than that I should be okay. Anyone know for sure?
