>>1877927Are you American? If so, I'm not surprised you say this. This is probably true over there, with your capitalistic overtaking of all concievable culture and tradition.
Let me give you an example of a pagan tradition, still practiced where I live, which still has meaning.
During Easter, men and boys go around the village or to their extended families, and gently whip the women and girls with reed whips, while chanting a spell. This is meant to confer beauty and fertility. In exchange, the recipient gives them painted eggs. This is not some kind of thing weird hillbillies in the middle of nowhere do--virtually all strata of society practice this tradition.
We can go full Varg and claim that the eggs represent the actual female egg, given to the man's seed (which sprouts from his 'whip', i.e phallus), from which life is born. Very appropriate for a spring festival.
Another quick example, for Yule. In my community (probably same all over the region, if not the country) during the day before the Yule feast we head into the woods with bread, apples etc. to give as sacrifice to the spirits of the forest, in small wooden shrines deep in the thickets. Well, they're actually feeders, and the spirits are deer. But you see the pagan roots of this tradition too--sacrifice some of your food so that Nature can give you in return a fatter deer on your next hunt.
