The immediate joule is pretty much the same at about 50 (a .22LR has around 100 depending on brand). What is better at killing: lower caliber higher velocity, or higher caliber lower velocity? This is only intended for mink pest control, since if I got to choose, I'd pick a real rifle any day since it's more humane, but not possible given the circumstances.
