Plus it's increasingly being used as a source of drinking water (like 40% of Bristol's drinking water comes from the canal, after being treated of course), which can help ease issues with our rivers. Especially the chalk streams, as I understand it. Which will help the wildlife that make their homes in *those* areas, like otters, salmon, etc
