>>2615946Hard to say because you aren't the only one that enjoys rabbit. Coyote, fox, etc will affect rabbit population as well. I think if you keep a fairly consistent hunting ground, more rabbits will come from outside that area to populate it.
You can pick up a couple rex rabbits(picrel) for about $30. Breeding them is super easy and you can feed them forage and kitchen scraps if you don't want to buy feed. Smallest litter I saw was 2 for a first timer and most of the time, it was 5 or 6.
I built my hutch for less than $50 with 2X4s, hardware cloth, and some scrap metal for the roof.
