>>328889>obviously never done itOP, I've done it for three years:
>not running water/had to haul water>no electricity/until I put in my low voltage batteries and wind generator>no gas/propane only>no running water/outhouse>no car for the first 6 months/walk and hitch everything, everywhereIt gets easier every year, you may get a case of "cabin fever", it's real. I suggest books, magazines, a radio and a pet. I doge. We had good times out there, I was about 38 miles from any real town, about 22 from nearest beer. This will matter to you. Your wood burner will become your lifesaver, I owe mine to mine. Girls will become an issue, the car makes it easier to bring them over or meet them and invite. I really did look forward to my fair visitors! Which got fewer and fewer over the years. I don't know what else to tell you, it can be done and IS being done by people "out in the sticks" everyday, city folk seem to think "our brains are to make friends and shit", we are social creatures, but also HIGHLY adaptable!
Solitude is Grace and there is Peace in knowing Silence.
You'll get plenty of that!
BTW, none of my neighbors ever helped me, the closest one was over a mile. They live out there for the same reasons and tend to mind their business... just the way I liked it!
