I made my own ultralight pack saw for $5 instead of buying that heavier carbon fiber meme one for $70 off buddys site. Its fantastic desu
1/2" ABS pipe
2x 1/2" copper end caps
1x cotter pin
2' gutted paracord
recip saw blade
toggle
>Drill one end cap through completely for the base, make sure it can still go on the pipe and stop when fully seated if that makes sense. Sand its edges well. File a wide slot in this cap so the tension stick has a spot to be held in place
>Drill one end cap in the center with a bit big enough to fit your cotter pin through and then file a slot across exactly as thick as the reciprocating saw blade you want to use
>clamp on cotter pin and add string
>insert blade and bottom it out
>tie knot 1 1/4" from end of handle when cord is fully pulled through and blade is seated
>add toggle and knot in place (toggle prevents your saw from becoming two pieces when you stow it)
