>>2330310Just my experience but gophers never bothered my corn much, they seem to prefer staying in the yard and barely touch anywhere I tilled. You should definitely plant some corn though. Glass gem is pretty but quite honestly looks better in pictures, earth tones dent on the other hand is the most beautiful corn I've ever grown and sells better than anything else as decoration corn. I would highly recommend it. Worst case scenario it doesn't work out and then you just retill and putt something else in.
Giant beets seem fun, I actually ordered some this year just to take up an unreasonably large space at the fair since they wouldn't let me show sugar beets last year. Might also try giant carrots if I can find the seeds, but in the meantime these colorful ones will have to do. I need to crack open the fair book and find more classes I can be obnoxious in.
