im a traveling tradie and service technichan. basicly had the same job for 15 years now, customers are 20% in the city the rest rural up to 5h drive away. i have been in absolutely every single sneedville og feedstore in this region of northern europe and while i migh be in a hurry to get there and fix whatever problem they might have in the morning, on the return drive im free to do whatever the fuck i want i just dont get paid for more than the shortest drive. sometimes i spend a month or more in such a place living i everything from high-end hotels to my trailer or even the back of my van and use the evenings to explore the local fishing spots and simply map out places for future camping visits.
not shure what my point is but look for well paid jobs that include travel and freedom, like fix the issue/install whatever in time and do whatever the fuck you want outside of working hours.
btw my pay is 80k €/year and im a refrigerant tech.
pic related, hired for a project 15h drive away, shure lets just spend the weekend getting there seeing some new places on the way
