I'm obviously happy I was able to catch fish, but it bothers me that I don't know why the fish were there. If I had started fishing 20 feet down the beach I might have caught nothing and written the spot off, and I want to be able to find fish again. I was catching fish casting into the red circle, and the green is a patch of sea grass. My immediate assumption is that they're holding near the grass but I cast in between the area I was catching fish and the grass and got nothing. Is there a reason they'd hold a solid 30 feet away from the grass but still be there? There wasn't a discernible current or any other nearby structure so my only other thought would be that they just move up and down the shore chasing bait and I just have to walk down the shore prospecting to find them.
