>>2608861I've fished larger baitcasters for catfish, but this is my first light tackle baitcaster. I've got some nice spincasting reels and rods I crappie fish, pan fish, and bass fish on. But I wanted something specifically for targeting these largemouth on the south end of my lake, and the the price tag was too good. I've always had good results with lew's equipment in the past. That duckette crappie slayer is a helluva rod, but it is hard to drop $70 on just the pole. I have found that the action in the rod, and the action in turn you can transmit to your bait. Can make a big difference in crappie fishing as well as bass fishing. I don't know how good the rod is on the combo I ordered. So I could be in your boat soon, looking for a good rod and probably going to have to spend more than I want lol
