Yeah it's excessive if you're taking selfies every minute. But normal people take photos here and there one their hikes because they have people in their life they want to share it with.
Not even posting on social media either, I do it to show my family.
Plus it's nice having photos to look back on years down the line when your memory starts to go downhil
