I have a reliable DeWalt that is a folding flip knife that has been through hell and back and I can promise you that $15 knife is still reliable as hell.
The only real question here is do you want to get a fixed blade that's full Tang or do you want to get a folding knife. I would say a 15 $20 DeWalt knife is very effective if you're looking for a folder.
