I don't care if you can tack and jibe well enough to hold a course at hullspeed for more than five minutes, unless you can read a chart and know what the fuck you're sailing through and anchoring in, you are going to be calling the coast guard. Know what a lee shore is? What type of bottom your specific anchor is going to be fouled on? How to identify a rock that is awash at chart datum?
