In my experience, it's not the lifestyle change or conditions that make you happier or sadder: it's the degree of freedom you have and weather or not you are getting laid. If you have no challenges to overcome in life though you also end up depressed. challenge, the basic hierarchy of needs being satisfied, and freedom. That's what I think you need in order to be happy, but I genuinely want to hear from OP; when did you last touch grass?
