The socks are pretty good (80% merino wool, 20% synthetics), they're not exactly all that cheap (12€) but they're worth it. Decathlon actually sells 100% merino wool socks for 13€: I discovered it after looking for cheap mid layers.
The gloves work okay, typing is a bitch but checking my GPS is easy, fit is as good as it gets for mass-produced stuff. Wouldn't use them in winter though.
