I normally go for smooth and eagle rays, snapper, big salmon and sometimes for sharks. When I'm on the kayak, it's usually squid or gar though.
When it comes to bait sessions, it's usually trumpeters, gar, salmon trout and tommy ruff, although it's pretty hard to resist eating all but the trumpeters.
Raking or tonging for blue swimmers is great fun too, and the occasional carp and redfin session for crab bait always goes down well.
Most of the time now I go fishing with newbies and go places where I'm guaranteed to catch lots of shit fish.
