I still reccommend for people just starting to use braid, if you were running 8lb mono, go with 15lb or 20lb braid on that same reel. A few reasons- good quality mono is often a bit thinner than what PowerPro claims so your 8lb Trilene XS is probably thinner than 30lb Power Pro. Also braid isn't as smooth ad mono so good 8lb mono will cast slightly further than 30lb braid. Also 30lb is likely overkill on that spinning combo made for 8lb mono. Going with 15lb braid will cast further than 8lb mono, the reel will hold more line, and the braid will still be twice as strong as the mono you were running.
